Project Supplier and Operator: Enron Wind, using technology acquired from its purchase of Tacke, a German wind turbine manufacturer. When Enron Wind declared bankruptcy in 2001, GE Wind purchased the manufacturing facility. The turbines at Montfort are an early example of what would become GE Wind’s workhorse product, the 1.5 MW sle.
